Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, sometimes called the "Moon Festival", occurs very year on 8/15 of the lunar calendar every year, near the Harvest Moon. The next ones are: Sept 12, 2011; Sept. 19, 2012; and Sept. 9, 2013. It is the second most important Chinese festival and celebrated around the world. The moon is full, families come together and eat a meal including mooncakes. Some compare the holiday to the American Thanksgiving.
